Who we are
Comfort Mind Body (comfortmindbody.com) is a personal blog about skincare, self-care, style, health and home, written by Anna Pereimyvovk. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Comfort Mind Body, and "you" means anyone who visits the site.
This policy explains what information the site collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. Questions or requests: use the Contact page. Comfort Mind Body is based in New York City, New York, USA.
What information we collect
Information you give us
- Comments. When you comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser's user agent, to help detect spam. Your email address is never shown publicly. An anonymized string made from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture; Gravatar's privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy. After approval, your profile picture appears next to your comment.
- Contact form. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address and message so we can reply. Forms are run by WPForms on our own site.
- Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe, we collect your email address (and name, if you give it) to send you the newsletter. An email service provider stores and sends these emails for us. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server and plugins record basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you and the date and time. We use it to run, secure and improve the site, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them for these purposes:
| Type | What it does | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps the site working and secure, for example blocking spam and attacks | WordPress, Wordfence |
| Comments | Remembers your name and email for your next comment, if you tick the box (kept for one year) | WordPress |
| Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages are read, using aggregated statistics | Google Analytics, via Site Kit by Google |
| Affiliate | Records that you followed one of our links to a retailer, so we earn a commission if you buy | The retailer or affiliate network |
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how readers use the site. Google receives your IP address and information about your visit. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on. See how Google uses this data.
Managing cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works, but some features, such as remembered comment details, will not.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep the blog running. We only link to products we think are worth considering, and a commission never changes the price you pay.
We currently take part in these programs:
- Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
- ShareASale
- ClickBank
- Brands we partner with directly
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or network may set a cookie and collect information about your visit and purchase under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your name or payment details. Our full Affiliate Disclosure has more detail.
Other websites. Links to other sites take you outside our control. Check their privacy policies before you share any information with them.
Embedded content and service providers
Embedded content. Some posts include videos, images or posts from other sites, such as YouTube, Pinterest or Instagram. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that site: it may collect data, set cookies and track your interaction with it.
Social links. The social icons on our site are plain links. They do not share anything about you until you click them and visit that network.
Services that help run the site. These providers process limited data on our behalf, only to provide their service:
| Provider | What it does |
|---|---|
| Hostinger | Hosts the website and its database |
| Wordfence | Protects the site from attacks and spam; logs IP addresses of visits and login attempts |
| NitroPack | Speeds up the site and serves pages through its content delivery network |
| Google (Site Kit, Search Console, Analytics) | Search performance and visit statistics |
| Rank Math | SEO settings and search statistics inside WordPress |
| WPForms | Runs the contact and sign-up forms on our site |
| Email service provider | Stores newsletter subscribers and sends emails |
How long we keep data, sharing and your rights
How long we keep it. Comments and their details are kept as long as the comment is on the site. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to answer you, then deleted. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Security logs are kept for a limited time and deleted automatically.
Who we share it with. We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above, to run the site, or when the law requires it.
Your rights. Depending on where you live (for example under the EU and UK GDPR or US state laws such as California's CCPA), you can ask to:
- see the personal data we hold about you
- correct it
- delete it
- object to or limit how we use it
- get a copy of it
To make a request, contact us through the Contact page. We will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children. This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Health information. Our articles are for general information and are not medical advice. Please do not send us health details through comments or forms.
Changes to this policy. We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
